hair restoration

Are you interested in trying hair restoration shampoo but aren’t sure if it is worth investing a lot of money in a treatment that may or may not work? Well, the good news is that not all hair restoration shampoos cost a lot of money. There are currently many different shampoos advertised with claims to either restore hair or to at least stop further hair loss. No one product suits everyone however, so you may need to try out different shampoos before you find one that really works for you.

One thing to remember when using hair re-growth shampoo is that it generally takes some time, weeks in fact, before the shampoo starts working as it should. Sometimes people give up far too soon, claiming that the shampoo doesn’t perform as well as it said it would, when in fact the problem was that they simply didn’t give the shampoo enough time to begin working.

Another factor to take note of is that once you begin using shampoo for hair loss, you will have to continue using it for the rest of your life, or until the condition that caused your initial hair loss is over. Hair loss shampoo is not a cure for hair loss, but it simply prevents further hair loss and sometimes can stimulate some hair re-growth.

It is also good to be aware of the difference between volumizing shampoos and hair restoration shampoos. Volumizing shampoos simply give your hair the appearance of being thicker and fuller, they do not stimulate new hair growth nor do they prevent hair loss.

Two popular hair restoration shampoos that have had very good results with both re-stimulating hair growth and preventing further hair loss are Revita and Nizoral. The active ingredient in these shampoos is ketoconazole. Apparently this ingredient actually stimulates hair growth, though it is not something that is seen immediately, it takes time and repeated use several times each week for it to begin working.

These hair loss solutions are not cheap, and having to use them several times a week does make it fairly costly for this continued use. Instructions recommend that you use the shampoo ever second day. You massage the shampoo onto your skull, leave in on for a few minutes then rinse it off and repeat the whole process. Some people have had favorable results, however, with less frequent use of the shampoo, only using it twice a week instead. Kits can cost anywhere as much as $150, though some are more moderately priced than this and oftentimes you can find cheaper kits by checking out the online auction sites, like eBay.  A good hair restoration shampoo is definitely worth trying if you are experiencing hair loss.
