The Restoration Hair System That Works

hair restoration

Hair loss affects millions of men and women in the US and most of them are looking for a restoration hair system that will grow back the hair they have lost. The problem is most of the hair loss remedies available will not replace hair they are only capable of keeping what hair a person already has from falling out. Basically, the drugs and solutions that are sold to help a person with hair loss are designed to slow down the mechanism by which hair is lost but they can not reverse it.

The number one cause of baldness and hair thinning is a genetic condition called pattern baldness or pattern hair loss. This genetic predisposition to hair loss can be passed down the mother’s line or the father’s even though for years it was thought to be associated only with gene transfer from the mother.

Some men and women experience pattern hair loss and some don’t. When you understand what causes the loss of hair you will see why this is so. Our hair units are actually made up of several distinct sections. The hair shaft, although not living, actually has three layers. The inner layer, also called the medulla, is only present in thick hair. The center layer, the cortex, determines the strength of the hair along with the texture and color. This can be considered the main portion of the hair shaft. And the cortex which is an outer layer that protects the hair shaft. The shaft itself does not grow like a tree does in the sense that it does not extend from the top of the shaft. Instead, it grows more like grass which is pushed up from the root system.

The hair shaft also has hair roots known as the follicle. The hair follicle is actually where the growth takes place. When a person starts to experience hair loss he or she is looking for hair restoration products to apply to the shaft but this does no good as the shaft is not living. The problem is at the hair follicle housed within the scalp.

Current scientific thought lays the blame for hair loss on the hormone DHT in the blood stream. When a person is predisposed to pattern baldness due to genetics he or she has hair follicles with receptors for DHT. This makes it easy for the hormone to bond with the hair follicle. This then causes a disruption in the growth cycle of the hair and eventually the shaft falls out.

Medical Hair Restoration

Medical hair restoration is a system that treats the fact that the hair has stopped growing. There really is no way to unbond the DHT from the hair roots so the only course of action is to have a hair restoration surgery and place new hair where the old has fallen out. Some restoration products for hair will slow down this bonding action of the DHT or limit the amount free in the blood stream but it will not be reversed.

The restoration hair system will take growing hair follicles from another area of the head, usually the back where the hair is not susceptible to the hormone, and transplant them into the balding area. This hair restoration surgery will then give you hair follicles that can last for years to come. The hair restoration cost is not cheap but once it is done you don’t have to worry about it for years to come. In fact, you can treat the transplanted hair units just like the naturally grown hair by styling it, coloring or whatever else you would do normally.

Hair Restoration For Women

It is possible for women to have the restoration hair system procedure but it is a little different. Females tend to lose hair over their entire head instead of just in patches. This means taking hair from one area of the head and placing it in another doesn’t really help much. A way around this is to transplant individual hair units using follicular unit extraction from other body areas to be used as filler.

There are other options being studied to treat hair loss but for now the best one is a hair restoration procedure that gives a person growing hair follicles in their bald spot.
